Educational Supervisor virtual roadshow – Autumn | 18 September 2025

In this roadshow, Dr Jemma Shandley, Paediatric Registrar delivered a session focused on Pregnancy loss and fertility in the workplace. We also heard from Dr Kay Tyerman, Head of School Yorkshire & Humber, who discussed ARCPs, the process and the role of the Educational Supervisor. As part of this session, Dr Lizzie Starkey provided further information on writing good quality Educational Supervisor Reports including some helpful examples.

During your first meeting with your trainee, make sure you review the new ST1 resource. By setting SMART objectives, you can work together with your trainee to complete the checklist. Keep the momentum high by holding fortnightly meetings if possible and regularly update ePortfolio within that meeting.

Continued Professional Development (CPD)

We do not issue CPD certificates for webinars or podcasts, as we are unable to verify participation.

However, you are still able to record as a CPD activity as you normally would, detailing what you have learned and how the learning will benefit your practice.

When recording the activity, delegates should focus on the reflection and detail the following:

  • What did you learn?
  • What effect has/will the learning had/have on your current practice?
  • What further learning or action, if any, is needed as a result of the original learning activity?
