The online Angoff training course has been designed for College members who are looking to become Angoff judges for the MRCPCH Theory exams in Foundation of Practice (FOP), Theory and Science (TAS) and Applied Knowledge in Practice (AKP). It is also there for existing Angoff judges to refresh their memories of the key concepts involved in the Angoff standard-setting process, and how this works for the MRCPCH Theory exams.

The course is split into four sections:

  • Introduction and key concepts
  • The minimally competent/borderline candidate
  • The RCPCH Angoff process
  • Key terms and judges’ impact on them

There are questions to answer after each section but don’t worry; you won’t pass or fail based on your answers. The questions are there to reinforce what you have learnt.

All new Angoff judges will need to complete this course before attending their first Angoff meeting as this will help you to understand the process and your role within it.
